As a business owner, it is your job to motivate your employees so they want to work harder for you and to create more profits. Many managers and owners alike only concentrate on the bottom line and they always seem to forget that it is the employees that will make or break them. If you don’t take care of your staff then they are not going to give their very best effort, and they might even make excuses not to have to come to work in the first place.   1. Build trust – It is important that employees feel appreciated and that they understand that you trust them. These are the very people who decide whether or not your business is a success, and so letting them know that you trust them to do their jobs properly can go a very long way. It could be just a simple statement that says that you do, or you could assign them a job that you would normally do yourself. This lets them know that you really do trust them, and they will go out of their way to make sure that it is a success.
  1. Set smaller goals – Employers have a terrible habit of setting goals that are unattainable or really difficult to reach. This is massively demotivating for employees because they feel that their employer is not being realistic about what is possible within the business. It’s much better to set smaller goals like getting 10 new customers this week, or selling insurance for five products sold. These are attainable goals and when they achieve them, you need to give them a reward.
