Skype Rolls Out Update For Its BB10 App Introducing New Design, Better Navigation and Search Features

If you use Skype for BlackBerry 10, you should know that there is a new update available for the application. The update brings the app close up to its Android version, therefore you’re no longer left at the back of the line waiting for improvements to come from the Android version to BlackBerry devices.

The update brings the app’s version up to v6.1.0.16424 and you can find the new features below :

  • New design – a new appearance for the app inspired by material design.
  • New navigation – You can now tap on the floating action button to perform actions quickly such as sending instant messages, making calls and sending video messages.
  • New search features – it’s now easier than before to find your important contacts and conversations.

The Skype app lets users communicate with their contacts over the Internet. To talk to your friends/associates, family or business contacts, you are required to create a Skype account (which is very simple) and have the contact do the same. After, you or the contact must add/accept each other and from there, you two can communicate as much as you wish as long as you’re both connected to the Internet.

If you do not yet have Skype for BlackBerry 10 on your device, you can download it for free straight from BlackBerry World here.
