Following up from the Amazon deal that BlackBerry has announced, they also let it be known that it will be closing down the video and music sections they hold in BlackBerry World.

The move will occur on July 21st, but rest assured, any content you may have downloaded in the past will still be available for you to download and watch any given time. Given that BlackBerry will now have access to Amazon’s App Store catalogue, it isn’t sure whether or not we’ll be seeing Amazon’s catalogue in particular or not:

In addition to the greater selection of apps, you will be able to access video and music services through a number of popular third party services available through the Amazon Appstore and BlackBerry World. While BlackBerry World will continue to offer music and video services via third party applications – again giving you more choices for your valued content — we will be closing the music and video sections of our store on July 21st. Don’t worry! Previously downloaded content will be available after that date through MyWorld.

Did you download much content from the video or music section? Personally, I only ever bought one film which was Live Free or Die Hard, I’ve never been interested in that part of the smartphone buzz, you know – watching a film on your 5″ screen.
