RIM Acknowledges BlackBerry Bold 9900 has power issues, RIM to work on the fix

After several claims from owners of BlackBerry Bold 9900 RIM finally acknowledges a power issue with the popular new phone. Owners report having trouble powering up their smartphones even after having it charge overnight. RIM recognized the problem and promises to come up with a fix for the issue.

“A limited number of customers have reported an issue where their device does not power on,” commented a RIM spokeswoman in a statement to CNBC. She continued that the company is “actively working on a software update to resolve this issue.”

Luckily a software reset some users of the Blackberry Bold 9900 were able to get their phone back to working order, while other owners were not as lucky, they had to order a replacement device which to any device user can be somewhat of an inconvenience.

This issue is likely to come from the Blackberry OS 7 operating system rather than the hardware of the device since the issue comes up after charging up the device. This is another issue that has come up in recent weeks, after a reported outage of service blackberry customers went through last month, thousands of blackberry customers were left without a proper connection for a couple of days.
