Hands On With The BlackBerry Touch (Monaco / Monza)

The guys over at BGR got there hands on one of my dream phones recently and needless to say I am beyond jealous. The BlackBerry Touch is a full touch screen non surepress device. Some of you may have or have had the BlackBerry Storm series as I once did and I personally did not like the device for the single reason of it having a sure press screen. This phone is not expected to be put under the Storm brand but there is always a possability. Afterall RIM has surprised us all before.

The phone is expected to come in two models that are currently codenamed the Monaco which is a CDMA version of the device and the Monza a GSM version of the phone. Both are expected to please a lot of customers that have been waiting for a full touch screen BlackBerry for a while. The Touch “is a thinner, faster and sexier BlackBerry handset” according to reports from BGR

The phone is reported to be running OS 6.1 which is said to not look much different then 6.0. With OS 6.1 you will have to have a BlackBerry ID in order to log into the system which is supposed to make things much easier when switching between devices, backing up and restoring data, and sharing contact information. Can anyone else say thank you RIM for this. I have been waiting for this forever so I will no longer have to deal with Verizon Wireless’s Back Up Assitant which seems to be down everytime I switch phones.
