UberSocial for Twitter BlackBerry App Updated to v.1.308

UberSocial Twitter app for BlackBerry has been updated to v1.308. The update brings bug fixes.

Changes from 1.304 to 1.308 include the following fixes:

• Loss of 3G and/or BIS connection after starting UberSocial
• Use of the carrier data plan even though BIS is specified in the configuration

Porsche-designed BlackBerry P’9531 in the Works

With the P’9981 Berry already developed for GSM, comes a new Porsche designed BlackBerry – the  P’9531. Not much details on this one but we do know that the P’9531 will feature a custom User Interface, exclusive apps, a unique PIN and a unique in-box charging cradle. We’re not too sure what all this means but this Berry might be compatible with CDMA carriers. 

RIM Launching New Curves in White Q2 2012

Sprint Killing PlayBook This Month?

According to this leaked EOL (End of Life) sheet obtained by Techcrunch, the BlackBerry PlayBook will no longer be distributed and sold by the Sprint carrier as of late January. There is no official confirmation on this but let’s hope that Sprint is discontinuing this particular model to make room for the hushed PlayBook 2 which could feature a 1.5GHz processor, NFC chip, and support for 42Mbps HSPA+.

Using Webworks, Mr. Gord Tanner was able to port Wikipedia Mobile to the  BlackBerry PlayBook. You can check out the entire process and build it yourself. Wikimedia Mobile responded to Mr. Tanner and are wroking to merge the code into the Wikipedia branch and getting it into AppWorld as quickly as possible. This is pretty good news for PlayBook Devs, consumers and the overall BlackBerry brand.
