Adeya Launches Encrypted Voice & Data Solution for BlackBerry OS 7 at ITU Telecom World

GENEVA, October 26, 2011 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ — Adeya, the Swiss mobile security company, has announced today that its Adeya for Voice™ and Adeya for Data™ encryption solutions are ready for the new generation of BlackBerry® smartphones[1]. These solutions guarantee secure voice, data transmission and messaging over all wireless public networks, including WiFi, EDGE, 2G, 3G, and satellite.

The security community has known for years that mobile communications are at risk – what has changed recently is the ease with which such hacking can take place. GSM calls can be intercepted using consumer-level equipment costing less than $5,000 with freely available software. This will mean that mobile phone security is no longer just a problem for celebrities and chief executives: anyone whose personal information could have a cash value is at risk. And, as people increasingly use their smartphones as an extension of their office, the risk to our financial and personal information will only grow.

“Adeya is a software solution that installs in minutes on unmodified mobile devices,” says Leo Bolchanine, founder and CTO. “It provides an end-to-end security layer, ensuring voice and data privacy using the proven public encryption standard, AES-256. We strongly believe in open standards, not proprietary algorithms, because they are rigorously tested by the security community. AES-256 is shown not to be breakable in practical use.”

Already available for Nokia S60 and BlackBerry® 5.0 devices, Adeya for Voice™ and Adeya for Data™ were developed primarily for governments and global corporations. They provide not just secure communication with excellent voice quality over any wireless network, but security of data on the mobile device itself – emails, contacts, messages and documents – protecting users both from interception and from physical theft or loss of the device. Adeya’s solution is user-friendly, intuitive, and can be managed remotely, so that data can be secured, erased, or reinstalled. Secure conference calls are supported without requiring an operator.

Adeya is an independent Swiss company safeguarding communications for public and private sector organizations. Based near Geneva, Adeya combines software experts, telecoms engineers, and ex-law enforcement officers with high-level experience in data and financial security. In business since 2007, its roots are in systems security for Swiss banks and multinational companies.

Solutions for iPhone®, Android™ and Windows Mobile™ will be available for large-scale deployment in the fourth quarter.
